Last Day of School party!

So I had this great idea to have a last day of school party for the boys. We had some of their friends over, mostly neighborhood kids. Had a lot of outdoor fun. Water guns, water balloons, sprinkler, croquet, chalk, jumpropes and such. We grilled hotdogs for supper and had a bonfire and S'mores. The kids had an AWESOME time! Heard a lot of "this is the best day ever!" from their friends and "Thanks for the party mom!" from the boys. I was glad we did it but decided it can go a little shorter next time. James and I were exhausted afterwards.

The Dog

Life is interesting with a dog. He is a good dog but he has some quirks and annoying habits. We got him groomed recently, quite an improvement.

Putter and Elvis (rarely are they this close w/o hissing)

Easter Eggs

Oh boy! Things are just changing in this household. I am loving the stage of life we are in. This year Brayden, our youngest, was able to get involved in decorating the Easter eggs. Look at those happy faces, a mama couldn't ask for too much more.

Our getaway

Over Spring Break, James and I went up and stayed in a cabin on Lake Superior while the kiddos spent some time with their grandparents. We had a nice, relaxing time. Played some cards, watched some movies, walked down to the lake and did a small amount of sightseeing. We had some coffee and at coffee shop 2 blocks away and even enjoyed a church service at a E-Free church a 5 minute drive from our cabin. We were only gone 3 days but it was much needed and VERY much enjoyed.

Birthdays

Wow! It has been a while since I've blogged. We've had three birthdays. Phillip turned 7 on Jan. 31st. Evan turned 5 on Mar. 17th. and Brayden turned 3 on Apr. 12th. Our boys are growing so fast.

For Phillip's birthday we had invited some little boys over, that day we got a snow storm and school was canceled. One boy was able to come...he lives right up the road from us. :)

We had a nice Christmas at home this year. It is nice to have our own tradions now. But we did get the chance to have some family here with us for lunch and the afternoon. Precious times.

For Christmas day we had James parents, his sister and her boyfriend, Paul over for lunch. It was such a nice family day. We really enjoyed having the company and sharing Jesus' birthday with them.
The group gathered in the living room, listening to records and Phillip dancing. :)
