Shed

It's been a long time coming (about 1 1/2 months) but we finally finished the shed. My (Pamela) dad came this past weekend to help us finish it up. They did the soffit, facia and installed the door. We do still need to put up some shelving inside and make a ramp but otherwise it is complete. The pictures are from start to finish. James ended up doing most of it himself, I tried to get out to help whenever possible but it is hard with a demanding infant.

The materials filling up our garage
Making the foundation (w/ some help)
The first of 7 homemade trusses and completed floor
Completed wall frame
Helpers;)
Side, after trusses
Front, after trusses
Walls and roofing, including shingles (can't see those though)

COMPLETE!!!!!!
(isn't it pretty) :)

Brayden

He looks like a little baseball dude! He's such a cutie, I just had to share this picture. He is growing so fast and changing quickly. :(

tornado damage

We went driving to see if we could see any damage, but it had already been a week since the tornadoe went through, so most stuff was cleaned up already. We just got some pictures of some trees. They're not the greatest.

A Sunday with family

On Sunday we had a wonderful time. We went over to my(Pamela) sisters where they were having their town celebration. We got to go to a parade, which was our first this year. Then we went to a park where they had activities, but it was way crowded. So we decided to go back to my sisters where we ordered pizza, the kids went in the sprinkler and played in the sandbox while us adults chatted and just hung out outside. It was a beautiful day and I was able to see a close friend that I haven't been able to see in about 8 months. So it was a great time.

Tornadoes

Okay, well we had some nasty weather last night. The sirens started going off and I made the comment that I wondered if they had spotted any tornadoes yet, and James looked out our bedroom window to the Southwest and saw one forming. So we rushed the kids to the basement and watched out the downstairs window, (even let the kids get a quick peek) I told James to get the camera. So he did and got a couple shots. Then after it had gone by we went back upstairs and were able to get that third shot. James was able to see debris flying around but it was far enough away that luckily we were not effected by it. It was a little scary but also kind of cool to see it. Douglas had learned how to be when there is a tornado and instructed the other two while mom and dad were watching the tornado from the window. He's such a big help. So we are okay, there is no damage to our house and it was cool to see but I hope we don't have to go through that again.
This is from our downstairs window on the West side
This was from our downstairs window on the East side. As it came across
This was off of our deck going East

First smile caught on camera

Thumbsucker

Surprising as it is to us, yes, we have a thumbsucker. But he does take the nuk too. We don't like him sucking it but I will tell you, he does look cute when he does.

Basking in the sun

This is our kitty, Putter, laying in between the headboard for our bed and the window, enjoying the warmth of the sun.

9 years...WOW!

James and I celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary yesterday. Well, not really celebrated it, he had to work all day and we didn't have really any time together. I feel so blessed with the man God chose for me. He certainly knows what He is doing. Not that it's been all roses for us but we get through it all together and feel stronger for all that we have overcome. Thank you Lord for your presense in our marriage. I don't know where we would be now without You. I have a husband that loves me and cares for our family. I know he would do anything for me. I know a lot of people did not think we would make it this far with us getting married so young, and at times early on, we may have doubted it too. But God had a plan and what a wonderful one it has been so far. I am looking forward to many more years. I love James so much and my prayer is for him to always know that.

4th of July 2008

Happy 4th of July everyone! Hope you had a nice one. We sure did. James had to work until 2:30 p.m. But we went over to our friends house in the late afternoon where we bbq'd, the boys went swimming after supper, mom went for a horseback ride, then the boys and even dad got a chance to ride a horse briefly. We had some great conversation then went off to the fireworks, they were pretty, I think Evan enjoyed them the most though. He was Oohing and ahhing for everyone, and he'd look back at me and be like "that's cool, mom" in his cute little 2 year old voice. Of course we didn't get home until around 11 p.m. and our boys don't sleep in no matter how late they go to bed, so they were all up by around 7-7:30 a.m. And we had a tired, crabby day, the day after the 4th.

Our weekend

We went up north this weekend to participate in my youngest sisters wedding. I got to be the photographer for them. It was a fun day, but cloudy and rainy (after the wedding) It was nice seeing extended family that we don't get the oppourtunity to see very often. It was also James' 30th birthday the same day of the wedding. So we went our for a birthday lunch.
Today marks 13 years of James and I being together, not married but since we started "dating". All I can think is "WOW"! I don't know that anyone thinks that they will last that long when they start seeing someone. How the Lord has blessed us these many years and I look forward to many, many more.
