On God's team!!
Monday through Friday of last week, from 9:30 a.m.- noon, Douglas had VBS (vacation bible school). Olympion was the theme, running the race of life. They learned about Joshua. And about making the decision of whose team you wanted to be on, God's or Satan's. He had a great time. Next year Phillip will be able to go too.

Brayden's 2 month appt.
Today was Brayden's 2 month dr's appt. He now weighs 13#'s and is 23 1/2 inches tall. The Dr. says he looks great. He also had to get 4 shots. The poor little boy, he was laying on the table smilin' and talkin' to me when the nurse came in to give him the shots and now since he had them, he has been SOOOOOO.... fussy. I can't put him down without him screaming at me. So basically it's been like this for the last 4 hours.

Father's day
On Saturday we had a, what felt like a jam packed day. The morning was spent doing laundry and going grochery shopping. We got home and it was time for lunch and off for naps. Then I fed the baby. after I was done, me and the two older boys went for a bike ride to get dad a father's day present. We got home and it was time to feed the baby again. James went to Menards to get the materials to build our shed. Then it's supper, baths and bedtime. It just felt so busy and on the go. On Sunday (father's day) we went to church in the morning and james spent the afternoon working on the shed (more on that later).
Below is a picture of the card we made him.

Beautiful day
Yesterday we kept busy. I did laundry in the morning, what a beautiful morning to hang out clothes. Then we went for a walk and out for lunch. We got home and it was off for naps for the boys and off to a meeting with our financial guy for dad. Finally getting stuff set up for us to start investing. After nap time we went for a bike ride to the library. Got home at supper time but mom had to feed the baby first. So the rest of us ended up with a little bit late of a supper but there was still time to get outside to play in the yard before it was off to bed for the night. It was such a beautiful day to get outside and enjoy it. Then last night our tornado sirens went off and the winds picked up quickly. So we (James and I) went to the downstairs for a little while. Nothing became of it. Very little rain and no tornadoes, just the strong winds. Fortunately.

Just chattin'
Here's Phillip and Brayden talkin'. Brayden responds so well to the boys when they smile and talk to him. He smiles pretty easily at them. They really enjoy his reactions. All three boys are wonderful with him and are always showing him so much love. Lots of kisses for this little guy. But I know that there will come a day when they will clash over something. So I will enjoy this while it lasts.
family fun
Well, we have been spending a lot of time outside playing, whether it be baseball, kickball, on the swingset or trampoline, and even sidewalk chalk. It's been wonderful to get out and have some fun. We even went to a movie last Saturday afternoon. We went and saw Kungfu Panda. It was a cute movie and the boys had a really good time. They came home and played "kungfu" outside.
Douglas' duck he drew with sidewalk chalk. It's a mallard, he says they are his favorite.
Evan drawing with sidewalk chalk, he sure can make pretty lines :)
Evan playing kickball. This is one of the things he enjoys most, but he seems to just like balls in general.
This is the boys doing "kungfu". I think it is suppose to be some form of the training exercises. But playing this was what they did for pretty much the rest of the night after we got home from the movie.

Getting in "trouble"
Game Night
Here's dad and the boys playing a game together.
They're causin' a little "Trouble"
They're causin' a little "Trouble"
The boys really enjoy spending time with their daddy. Especially playing board games. Their favorite is probably Jr. Monopoly, which is good because dad enjoys regular monopoly and mom does not. Maybe he will have some players when they get a little older.

The first year is done :(

WOW! Douglas has completed his first year of kindergarten. This year has gone by so fast. I wanted to post some pictures of him from kindergarten. The first is a picture of him and his friend Zach on a bus ride to the amazing farm, the next is him and three friends and the last is the whole class, all taken at the same place.

The top picture is Douglas with his teacher, the one to the left is a special quilt that the class made for their teacher, she is retiring this year.
Brayden turns 6 weeks old
Brayden turned
6 weeks old on Saturday May 24th. He has gotten so big already. I always say that our kids start out small but get big fast. He doesn't feel like a newborn anymore when I hold him. :( But I don't know for sure how much he weighs or anything and we don't go into the Dr. again until like the 23 rd of June for his 2 month check-up. And these are just a couple of the pictures I took of him on that day. He is such a little cutie pie. Not that I'm biased or anything :)

The zoo.. out of the mouths of babes
Right after we got home from the hospital with Brayden, things were pretty chaotic in our house and the boys were outside playing and this is the sign Douglas wrote on our front step with sidewalk chalk. I felt it was so appropriate. If you can't tell what it says, it says
To the
zoo
Look
for animals
Welcome
so basically
welcome to the zoo,
look for animals.
To me it just summed up the chaos in our household. Totally cute.

He's here!!!
He weighed in at 7# 6oz and was 19 inches long. His big brothers are lovin him up and really enjoy having him around. It's a little sad that this is planned to be our last baby and we know he won't stay a baby for long. We feel so extremely blessed.
